Harbaugh has a long and successful career in both college and pro football. He played as a quarterback for 15 years in the NFL, including two seasons with the Chargers from 1999 to 2000. He then transitioned to coaching, starting as an assistant at the University of San Diego in 2004.
He became the head coach of Stanford University in 2007, where he coached future NFL stars like Andrew Luck and Richard Sherman. He moved to the San Francisco 49ers in 2011, leading them to three consecutive NFC championship games and one Super Bowl appearance.
